Keeping records with diary entries

In Knowledge, the records are diary entries. This acts as a logbook in which authorized staff can record additional information about plant production.
When you select Knowledge on the Module Selection pane, AVEVA Production Management automatically displays the Standard Diary option in the View Selection pane. Choosing the Standard Diary option causes AVEVA Production Management to display records that Knowledge automatically captures and staff can add manually. The diary includes an online sketchpad to add sketches to diary records.

A Knowledge diary can capture knowledge that only people closest to plant production can impart such as:
-
Observations of incidents.
-
Data on deliveries, staff absentees, production delays and other miscellaneous data.
-
Suggestions for improvements.
-
Interpretations of data.
-
Insights into the culture and operation of the plant.
Uses of diary
Some possible uses of the diary records include, but are not limited to, the following:
-
Operators can log their observations of incidents that affect production.
-
Business managers can study firsthand accounts of incidents that staff observe, including incidents that other modules don’t automatically record.
-
Maintenance crews can record notes for operators, supervisors, and managers.
-
Quality Assurance managers can make operating procedures available to staff, and then use the diary to monitor the use of procedures.
-
Staff can refer to historical records for previously successful solutions to problems.
