The following describes how to configure counters with the Windows Performance (PerfMon) utility.

To configure Performance Monitor counters

  1. Open the Windows Control Panel.

  2. Open Administrative Tools.

  3. Open Performance Monitor.

  4. Expand Performance Logs and Alerts.

  5. Right-click Counter Logs, and select New Log Settings.

  6. On the New Log Settings dialog box, enter a name for the log.

  7. Click OK.

  8. On the dialog box that appears, click Add Counters.

  9. Select a performance counter and click Add.

  10. When finished click Close.
