Understand equipment mappings

AVEVA™ Production Management project configuration includes the facility to associate reporting points of certain types with a work center or work unit by means of a mapping mechanism.
AVEVA™ Production Management performs this mapping automatically through an internal mapping service. An association (or mapping) between a lot reporting point, lot group reporting point, or material quality reporting point and the equipment is created so that the equipment can derive additional data for lots or lot groups that belong to the equipment.
AVEVA™ Production Management uses the matching material and position in the hierarchy to determine the reporting points to map to the equipment.
Note: Previously, the user performed this mapping manually, with the Reporting Point Associations dialog box, which was launched through the properties of a work center.

Equipment associations for reporting points
Each work center or work unit has mappings to associated lot reporting points, lot group reporting points, and material quality reporting points. AVEVA™ Production Management automatically detects your configuration settings and creates these mappings between the equipment and these types of reporting points, based on placement in hierarchy.
