Add and configure a stored variable

It is good practice to create stored variables in a single Applications folder under the System Configuration folder. This makes it easier to edit and maintain stored variables.

To create a stored variable folder

  1. Right-click the System Configuration folder, point to Add Item, then Standard Items, then select Applications Folder. A new Applications folder appears.

  2. Rename the folder to Stored Variables.

To add a stored variable

  1. Right-click the Stored Variables folder, point to Add Item, point to Variables, then click Stored Variable. A new Stored variable appears.

  2. Rename the stored variable. This is the name that is to refer to the Stored Variable from elsewhere in the project.

  3. Configure the properties. For guidance in configuring the properties, see Stored variable properties.

Important: When you finish setting the properties, Validate and Save the project.
