Associate project items with classes

You can associate project items that are ISA-95 models with classes. These items have a Class Association property from which you can choose a defined class to which the item belongs.

Equipment items

• Enterprise folder

• Area folder

• Site folder

• Work center

Associate an item with class

1. In Studio, in the Project Explorer, select the item.

2. In the Properties pane, next to the ClassAssociation property, click Browse (...). The Class Association dialog box appears.

   

3. Select the class to associate with the item and click OK.

   The item belongs to this class and displays custom property definitions in the Properties pane. If a template is associated and applied to the class, the item inherits characteristics of the applied template.

Remove a class association

• In the Properties pane, select then right-click the Class Association property, and then click Reset.
