Cause code lookup list

  • Last UpdatedMar 26, 2025

A cause code enables you to predefine the reasons that Downtime events or Energy events can occur, so that the user can select from a list. This promotes consistency across the data set and better analysis.

After you define a cause code, you can make this cause code available at certain locations in the hierarchy. Operators can select the cause code as the reason for a Downtime or Energy event. A cause code can be used individually, or as part of a relationship matrix.

Tip: You can use Lookup lists to populate menu options that appear as drop-down menu items in the Details dialog box.

Example of cause codes

The cause code list includes causes that you want to include in the generic equipment types, as well as unique causes that you might want to add to individual equipment.
