Add and configure a Material class constraint

  • Last UpdatedMar 11, 2025

You can add a Material class constraint item to a material movement to limit the allowed material classes for that movement. This is so that movements can occur from lot groups or equipment that contains multiple materials.

As long as the materials belong to the same class, the movement takes from any available material. Also, a single movement can be made up of multiple materials. Traditional material movements could move only one material at a time.

For material movements and material constraints diagram, see About material constraints.

To add a Material class constraint

You can add as many Material class constraint items as you require.

  1. Right-click a Material movement item, and click Add Material Class Constraint. A new Material class constraint item appears.

Studio project hierarchy view showing a newly added Material Class Constraint Item under Material Movements folder.

  2. Rename the Material class constraint with a meaningful name.

  3. Repeat as many times as required.

  4. Configure the properties. For guidance in configuring the properties, see Material class constraint properties.
