Phase 1: Before upgrade

Before you upgrade a project, consider these important points:

• Upgrade of AVEVA Production Management projects should be done in a controlled environment and not directly on a production system.

• Check that you have a backup of the project, data repository, and other relevant items before you begin the upgrade process.

• Check that your project can pass validation before upgrade. Your upgrade may not succeed on projects that can not pass validation.

• Be certain there are plans in place to facilitate a roll back, if required.
