About Material Quality

A Material Quality reporting point collects material quality data to assist in the determination of calculated quantities of inventory. The Material Quality concept is about linking Quality attributes to specific lots of material. Some examples of Quality attributes are: Ash %, Moisture %, Platinum %, etc.

AVEVA Production Management can calculate an inventory level with a formula that combines a Material quality and an Inventory quantity.

For example, if your material is 5ppm gold (Material Quality) and you have 100 tonnes of material (Inventory Quantity), you can determine the quantity of gold = 0.5 Kg.

When is a Material Quality record created?

• New Material Quality records are created when a new lot is created .

• A user can manually add a new Material Quality record.

• You cannot delete a Material Quality record.
