Splitting enables a single Energy event to be split into two separate events. This enables you to assign an individual cause, cause location, and classification to each newly split Energy event.
Guidelines for splitting Energy records
-
The Energy record is required to have duration of more than 5 minutes.
-
A new Energy record created as a result of a split is at least 1 minute in duration.
-
Check that appropriate comments are added to the original record, prior to splitting.
Example: A delayed record requires a split
-
Asset stopped for 4 hours due to mechanical breakdown. Two hours lost because the appropriate technician was not on site. It took two hours to repair the issue.
-
The original delay would be split into 2 x 2 hour delays. The first delay would be classified as ‘Manning Insufficient’ and the second delay ‘Cracked Fractured’
