Start or stop Ampla Server with Windows Services

By default, Ampla Server is set to start manually, in which case, you'll have to perform the procedure every time the server computer is rebooted, or SQL Server is stopped. Normally, this would not be of concern because the server is only stopped rarely, however, Ampla Server requires manual restart each time, as follows.

To manually start or stop the server

  1. In the Windows Control Panel , select Administrative Tools, and then Services. The Services window appears.

Windows Services window highlighting the Ampla Server from the list of services.

  2. Check the list of services for Ampla Server, and check its status is Started.

  3. If not, click Restart the service.

  4. Close the Services window.

You can change Server Start setting from Manual to Automatic to alter this behavior. In this way, Server automatically restarts along with the SQL server whenever it restarts.

To automatically start the Ampla Server

  1. In the Windows Control Panel , select Administrative Tools, and then Services. The Service window appears.

  2. Right-click Ampla Server service, and click Properties.

  3. On the General tab page, next to Startup type, select Automatic from the list.

Ampla Server Properties dialog box launched when you right-click the Ampla Server service and select Properties from the context menu showing where you can select the Automatic option from the Startup type list.

  4. Click OK.

The service starts automatically the next time the server is started.
