Add and configure an AVEVA data source

The AVEVA data source item establishes a connection to an AVEVA™ Historian server.

• Stores the other AVEVA connector items that you add.

• Manages the interactions between the items of the AVEVA connector library.

• Indicates the active connection and its status.

  Note: The AVEVA Connector library was formerly called the Wonderware Connector library.

Guidelines

You can add the data source to any Applications folder. To decide where to add the data source, you can take one of the following approaches:

• Place the data source in the hierarchy where you can logically associate it with the location.

• Place it and other data sources in the same Applications folder to associate it with data sources.

To add an AVEVA data source

Note: A project can contain multiple AVEVA data sources.

1. Right-click an ApplicationsFolder item, point to Add Item, point to Connectors, and then click AVEVA. The AVEVA Data Source item appears.

   

2. Rename the item with a meaningful name.

3. Configure the properties. For guidance in configuring the properties, see AVEVA data source properties.

4. Add and configure an AVEVA connection.
