AVEVA Production Management supports publishing of event data for Downtime, Production, and Metrics modules to the CONNECT data services, utilizing the full potential of CONNECT capabilities such as data visualization through CONNECT visualization. CONNECT visualization is a cloud-based solution for managing industrial operations and assets. It provides an interactive data visualization experience through a collection of widgets, allowing you to build and view dashboards using data published to the CONNECT data services.
To use CONNECT data services, integrate, and access published data, you need to have a CONNECT account.
For more information, refer to CONNECT data services and CONNECT visualization at docs.aveva.com.
CONNECT integration required components
Integration of on-premises event data requires curation and publishing to the CONNECT data services. To gather and organize event data from the AVEVA Production Management module datasets and publish to the cloud service, you need the following components:
-
Production Management Curation Services
A data curator component included as part of the AVEVA Production Management installer. For detailed installation steps, refer to Install the data curator component.
The data curator component consists of these two subcomponents:
-
Production Management Data Curator - A Windows service that connects to the configuration database using the project database information obtained from the AVEVA Production Management service configuration. It then reads the repository database for event data and publishes it to the CONNECT data services through an agent.
Important: The data curator service endpoints for CONNECT integration include PCS token-based authentication and authorization. You can retrieve details from the curator endpoints only with administrative privileges. If the PCS server is installed on a computer different from AVEVA Production Management, you need to manually update the value for the Issuer entry in the Ampla service configuration file (SE.SPO.AmplaService.exe.config) from localhost to the name of the computer where the PCS server is installed. For example: https://amp-srvr01.domain.com/IdentityManager.

Production Management Data Curation Configuration - This is a configuration tool responsible for configuring the key components for CONNECT integration such as the token service, certificate, and the AVEVA Events to CONNECT agent's general and data ingress information.

AVEVA Events to CONNECT agent
The data curator requires AVEVA Events to CONNECT version 1.0.1 to publish on-premises event data to CONNECT data services. For more information, refer to the AVEVA Events to CONNECT online help.

Studio configuration changes impact on CONNECT integration
If you use the CONNECT integration feature, it is important to understand how Studio configuration changes can affect published data in the CONNECT data services. Learn how to manage these impacts, if possible. For a consolidated list of Studio configuration changes that affect CONNECT integration, see Configuration changes and limitations affecting CONNECT integration in the Administrator (Studio) online help.
