Advanced Settings

Use the Advanced Settings functionality to specify the default settings for piping components, nozzle cascading properties and secondary centerlines.

Piping Components

Allow Insertion of Orphan Inline item

Select the check box to allow the insertion of inline items anywhere on the drawing canvas.

Deselect the check box to allow the insertion of inline items on a centerline only.

Out of Spec Color

Specifies the display color of piping components that do not meet the specification driven validation rules when inserted on a centerline.

Use the Browse functionality to select a color from the color palette or to define a custom color.

Update specification attributes automatically

Select the check box to allow the application to populate the specification driven attributes when a piping component is drawn or reclassified.

The attributes are automatically populated if there is a single attribute value available. If multiple attribute values are available, the attribute is populated with a null value and an attribute value must be selected.

Deselect the check box to turn off the automatic update of specification driven attributes.

Nozzle

Cascade Properties

Select the check box to allow the application to propagate the Bore attribute between a centerline and a connected nozzle by default.

Deselect the check box to turn off the Bore attribute propagation between a centerline and a connected nozzle.

Pipeline

Secondary Piping Segment

Specifies the class used as a secondary centerline.

Use the Browse functionality to display the Select Class window, select the required secondary centerline class from the available classes.

If the selected class is not a child class of a centerline, an error message is displayed.

Arrow Heads

Insert Arrow head

Select Yes from the drop-down list to display arrow heads on centerlines.

Select No from the drop-down list to omit arrow heads from centerlines.

The selected option is used for all subsequently drawn centerlines in the current session until changed.

Symbol Name

Specifies the arrow head symbol for centerlines, select a symbol from the drop-down list.

Arrow head at midpoint

Specifies the position of arrow heads on centerlines.

Select Yes from the drop-down list to position arrow heads at the mid-pint of each centerline vertex.

Select No from the drop-down list to position arrow heads at the end of each centerline vertex.

Note:
Arrow heads do not display at the end vertex of a centerline if it is connected to an inline component or a nozzle.

Dual Flow

Specifies the arrow head symbol for dual flow centerlines, select a symbol from the drop-down list.

Signal Line

Insert Arrow head

Select Yes from the drop-down list to display arrow heads on signal lines. The arrow heads are positioned at the end of the last signal line vertex.

Select No from the drop-down list to omit arrow heads from signal lines.

The selected option is used for all subsequently drawn signal lines in the current session until changed.

Symbol Name

Specifies the arrow head symbol for signal lines, select a symbol from the drop-down list.

Instrument - Process Owner Naming Convention

Piping Network Class

Specifies the class used for piping networks, either Piping Network System, Piping Network Segment or Piping Connection, or sub-classes of those.

This setting is used to automatically select the process owners of instruments attached to a piping network based on their process relevance.

Use the Browse functionality to display the Select Class window, select the required class from the available classes.

Highlight

Enable highlight changes preview

Select the check box to highlight items to which a modified attribute value will be propagated. The highlighted items display using a single color and a thick line type when an attribute is selected.

Deselect the check box to turn off the attribute propagation highlight.
