Tie points are added to the drawing canvas by dragging from the Symbol Palette.
The tie point can be rotated to the correct orientation and positioned directly on the drawing canvas.
Position the leader line grip anywhere on the piping network segment.

Connected Items
The tie point from and tie point to values indicate the piping network segment start and end points that are connected to a tie point.
To display the tie point from and tie point to attributes, select the tie point on the drawing canvas.
Open the Attributes window and navigate to the Tie Point From or Tie Point To attribute.

If a tie point is deleted, the reference item at tail or referenced item at head attribute on the piping network segment is updated with the connected engineering item and the tie point reference is removed.
If a tie point is disconnected, the reference item at tail or referenced item at head attribute on the piping network segment is updated with the connected engineering item and the tie point reference is removed.
If a tie point is disconnected, the tie point from and tie point to attributes are empty.
Copy and paste as new/duplicate/graphics is supported for tie points. The leader line must be connected manually after a paste operation.
Note:
Specific attributes are available in the Configuration module to define the split point options for the placement of tie points on P&ID
Drawings.
Split Pipe
Tie points can be defined to split at pipe level which splits the piping network system and piping network segment when the tie point is added to the drawing canvas. The Create window displays.

Upstream
A piping network system and piping network segment are created upstream of the connection point of the two items at which the tie point is inserted.
Downstream
A piping network system and piping network segment are created downstream of the connection point of the two items at which the tie point is inserted.
Split Branch
Tie points can be defined to split at branch level which splits the piping network segment when the tie point is added to the drawing canvas. By default, a piping network segment is created downstream of the connection point of the two items at which the tie point is inserted.
Split None
Tie points can be defined not to split the piping network system or piping network segment.
Refer to Symbol Palette and P&ID Tie Point Attributes for further information.
