Export Rule Sets and Rules

Exports project defined rule sets and rules for use in a different project.

The export functionality is enabled when project defined rule sets or rules are selected on the Manage rules window. On the Manage rules window, click to display the Export rules window.

Use the Export rules window to define the rule sets and rules for export, and the export directory.

Select all

Selects all rule sets and rules in the export tree view.

Clear selection

Deselects all rule sets and rules in the export tree view.

Export tree view

Displays the rule sets and rules that are available for export.

The check box adjacent to the rule sets and rules defines the exported data.

If the check box is selected, the rule set, or rule, is exported.

If the check box is not selected, the rule set, or rule, is not exported.

Destination directory

Defines the location for the exported file. Type an explicit location and filename in the field or click Browse.

Use the Select file path window to specify the folder to which the rule sets and rules are exported.

Export

Exports the rule sets and rules to the specified location. The exported XML file is encrypted and cannot be edited.

If the destination directory is read only, an error message displays summarizing the problem.

If the destination directory does not exist, an error message displays summarizing the problem.

When the export is completed, error messages may display which provide information about any issues that occurred.
