View Drawing Items

Displays engineering items, present on the active sheet in a grid view. For example, equipment, instruments, inline items and pipes.

Note:
Some engineering items are excluded from the grid. For example, signal lines, process instrument connection lines and boundaries.

The Drawing Items window can be used to:

• Zoom to an item on the drawing canvas.

• Highlight an item on the drawing canvas.

• Edit the attributes of an item.

• Reclassify an item.

• Delete an item.

On the P&ID tab, in the Drawing Items group, click Drawing Items to display the Drawing Items window.

The left-hand part of the Drawing Items window displays a hierarchical tree-view of the engineering items on the active sheet, similar to the P&ID Explorer.

Use the tree view to select an item or a category of an item, the details of which are displayed in a grid on the right-hand part of Drawing Items window.

Note:
If a value is modified in the grid, the engineering items to which the modified value is propagated are highlighted on the drawing canvas. Modified values are highlighted on the Attributes window.

Select a row and right-click to display a drop-down menu.

Delete

Deletes the currently selected engineering item. The Confirm Delete window is displayed. Click Yes to confirm the deletion or click No to cancel the deletion.

Note:
If an engineering item is deleted which has parent or child relationships, the parent and child engineering items are deleted. For example, if a piping network system is deleted, the piping network segment and all inline items are deleted.

Highlight

Highlights the currently selected engineering item on the drawing.

Note:
Highlight functionality is disabled if automatic zoom is turned on.

Zoom

Zooms in to a selected engineering item on the drawing.

Note:
Zoom functionality is disabled if automatic zoom is turned on.

Reclassify

Modifies the class of the currently selected engineering item on the Drawing Items window.

Customize

The layout of the data, displayed in the right-hand part of Drawing Items window, can be configured. Columns can be ordered using a drag and drop operation. Columns can be added and removed from the display.

Click to display the Customize window.

Visibility

If the check box is selected, the column is included in the grid.

If the check box is not selected, the column is not included in the grid.

Select all

Selects all columns in the Customize window.

Clear all

Deselects all columns in the Customize window.

Automatic Zoom

Click to turn automatic zoom on or off.

If automatic zoom is on, the application zooms in, and highlights, the selected engineering item on the drawing.

If a piping network system or piping network segment is selected, the application zooms in, and highlights, the complete selection.
