Discipline objects represent engineering disciplines. The attributes of tagged items will be divided between multiple disciplines, each group of discipline attributes to be editable by users within the discipline in question.
Note:
New disciplines can be added to a set of levels after interdisciplinary project creation.
Refer to Update or Delete Project Data for details.
To create a discipline, click Disciplines (ENGI) on the Manage tab and click Create. The Create Discipline window is displayed:

Enter the unique identifier of the new Discipline in the Name field. The field does not support spaces. They will be automatically removed if entered.
Enter a "user-friendly" descriptive name for the Discipline in the Display Name field.
In the Code (Required) field enter a unique code for the Discipline. This will be used in automatically generated team, database and Multiple Database (MDB) names. Cannot contain symbols or spaces. If a Discipline Code is used in team names, it must consist of alphabetic characters only.
Enter a description in the Description field.
The entry in the DB Range Start field is to determine the start point for databases numbers required for Discipline. When the Inter-Discipline Project Setup is run it will use the first number higher than the entered start range as the Database (DB) Number for the extract hierarchy.
In the DB Range Start field enter the lowest number that will be applied to databases created for this discipline. The system will use the first unused DB Number greater than or equal to the given number for databases created for this discipline. The number can be set to 0, in which case and the system will find the lowest available valid DB Number. It can be set to any valid DB number even if it is already in use or is shared by other disciplines.
A warning is issued if the user selects a database number in the range already claimed for databases in AVEVA standard projects. (7000 to 8000 and 250000 to 255000). This does not prevent users from using a number in this range however.
Click System to complete the DB Range Start field with a system selected DB Number.
Click Project to select the next available DB Number in the project-specific DB Range.
Note:
If Project functionality is unavailable for selection this means that the project
does not contain a project-specific DB Range.

Click Apply. The discipline will be created and added to the list of disciplines .
Repeat the above procedure until all required disciplines have been created. For example:
