Create a list datasheet
A list datasheet returns a list of the tags in a selected data source. You create a list datasheet in the same way as other datasheets.
Select List Datasheet from the list in the toolbar of the Datasheet Template Editor in the Configuration module.

Use the List Datasheet Selection Form window in the Engineer module to create a datasheet from a list datasheet template.
For list datasheets, you do not need to select a particular row in the grid.
Follow these steps to create a list datasheet:
-
Open a grid in the Grid Explorer.
-
On the Datasheets tab in the toolbar, select New List from the drop down menu of Datasheet.

List datasheet selection form opens. -
In the List datasheet selection form, select a List datasheet template.
-
Specify a name for the new datasheet.
Note: The data source of the grid must be the same as the data source on which the list datasheet template is based.

Ability to save grid filters for list datasheets
To create a list datasheet instance that includes only the filtered grid items, select Apply filter from current grid.
The checkbox is enabled only when:
-
Filters are applied to the current grid.
-
The grid and the selected datasheet template have the same data source.
-
If the data source is a database view set, the checkbox is only enabled if the grid is related to the primary database view.
If you create a list datasheet using Apply filter from current grid, the datasheet automatically includes new tags that meet the saved filter criteria.
Filter tags in datasheets based on filter conditions
If a list datasheet is open and it was created with the Apply filter from current grid option, then the datasheet is updated with any new tags that you create which meet
the existing filter criteria. It includes tags that are copied or duplicated.
Save grid filters in datasheets implementation
When selected, the current grid filter conditions are saved with the list datasheet and used to determine which tags are included.
When a list datasheet is created with grid filters, the filter conditions are stored as part of the datasheet definition. The datasheet applies these saved filter conditions independently of the grid.
Because the filters are stored with the datasheet:
-
The datasheet remains consistent across sessions.
-
The displayed data is not affected by changes to the grid view.

Show grid filters in datasheets
The filter conditions applied to a list datasheet can be accessed from the Filter records form.
The Filter records form:
-
Displays the filter criteria associated with the datasheet.
-
Allows you to review the conditions used to determine tag inclusion.

Note: The application displays filter records in read-only mode and does not allow modification.
