Component area

  • Last UpdatedFeb 17, 2025

The only purpose of component areas is to view FEED stream list data (that is, Heat and Material Balance reports).

The datasource must have:

  • A separate Flowing Component database view

  • A database view set containing these views, all linked by column relations:

    • Streams database view

    • Material Flow Specification view

    • Material Flow Bulk view

    • Material Flow Liquid Bulk view

    • Material Flow Phase view

If you try to create a component area on any other datasource, this message is displayed: "Cannot map Component Area for current template datasource".

The cells of the first column of a component area are read-only and reserved to display chemical components. You cannot map attributes to them.

You cannot map Units of Measure (UOM) or case controls within a component area. Instead, you place these controls outside the component area and link them to attributes inside the component area.

Calculation Control

Any calculation controls in the component area should be assigned to a range of attributes.

In the datasheet template, assign Calculation Control output to a cell, and then select a range of attributes in the continuation area and assign Calculation Control to the selection. In the Properties pane, select a Calculation Type.
