Assign Instrument to Process Equipment

The currently selected instrument on the drawing canvas can be associated with process equipment items.

On the P&ID tab, in the Assign group, click Instrument and select to Process Equipment from the drop-down menu.

The prompt Select target equipment for association is displayed.

Click to identify the target equipment items to be associated with the instrument.

The instrument is associated with the target equipment items.

Note:
If an invalid item is selected on the drawing canvas, an error message is displayed summarizing the problem.

If the instrument is already associated with an equipment item, the Association window is displayed.

Select the Append radio button to add the equipment association and retain the existing equipment associations.

Select the Replace radio button to add the equipment association and remove the existing equipment associations.

The process equipment value indicates the process equipment items associated with an instrument.

To display the process equipment attribute, select the instrument on the drawing canvas.

Open the Attributes window and navigate to the Process Equipment attribute.
