Prepare inline items for flipping in Configuration module

Before you can use inline items (for example, valves) as flipping items in the reverse stream process properly, you must prepare the items. Alternatively, you can update AVEVA Unified Engineering to the current release.

Launch AVEVA Unified Engineering - Configuration

  1. Start AVEVA Unified Engineering to display the AVEVA Unified Engineering window.

  2. Select the MLP 2.0 project tile.

  3. Select the Select > link to display the second AVEVA Unified Engineering window.

  4. Select the Engineer Config tile.

  5. Enter User Name and Password.

  6. Select Launch to display the application.

Check Associated Discipline

  1. On the Drawing tab in the View group, select Setup Explorer to display the Setup Explorer window.

  2. In the Setup Explorer window, expand Drawing types.

  3. Select Process Flow Diagram.

  4. On the Drawing tab in the View group, select Attributes to display the Attributes window.

  5. Check the Associated disciplines entry.

    For this example it is the Process discipline.

    Configure Inline Items for flipping

    1. On the Drawing tab in the View group, select Graphic Properties to display the Graphic Properties window.

    2. Expand Process Flow Diagram.

    3. Expand Valves.

    4. Double-click a valve entry, for example, Valve, general to display the Valve, general Symbol Editor drawing.

    5. In the Properties grid in the Reflectable line, select the cell in the second column to display the selection arrow icon.

    6. In the dropdown menu, select Yes.

      Configure Inlet and Outlet point on symbols

      1. In the Setup Explorer, select the Valve, general entry.

      2. Right-click to display the the context menu.

      3. Select Attributes to display the Attributes window.

      4. Under PFD - Process Flow Diagram Attribute in the Direction - Automatic orientation dropdown selection, select Yes.

      5. For Inlet and Outlet, select Edit to display the Select points window.

      6. Select the inlet point.

      7. Select the outlet point.

      8. Select OK to populate the parent window with the defined points in the image:

        The Inline item is now prepared and you can now reverse inline items in the reverse streams process.
