Distributed attributes are built on top of the well established functions and concepts of AVEVA E3D Design technology. The functionality of distributed attributes User Defined Attributes (UDAs) and User Defined Element Type (UDETs) behave as an integral part of the system.
A distributed attribute group is a UDET based on the XPITEM element type. The UDET itself works like any other UDET and may carry any number of attributes, whereas UDAs, which are defined by you.

All definitions of Distributed Attributes are stored in dictionary databases and maintained by the Lexicon module.
