Create a Project

Open the wizard, by clicking New Project in the AVEVA Administration sign-on screen.

Specify a project name.

For a Marine project, select the Marine project type and the AVEVA Marine 12.1 Format option.

Click Details to open the Project Details window, enter the details in the Number, Name, Description, and Message fields, if required and enter your chosen Free" Username and Password for the project and click OK.

Click OK to apply the project details, the Project Details window will close and you are returned to the initial project creation window.

By default, the project folders will be created in the main project folder, and you can edit them by clicking Project Variables, which displays the variables and the values set for the basic project variables. An additional two variables are available which must be checked on if required.

To add extra project areas, select or enter the number in the Extra Project Areas field.

If you want to change the location of any of these project folders, right click on the row of the corresponding variable, and then browse to the alternative location.
Note:
The wizard only allows changes before the project is created. Once the project is created changes can be done manually, or by using a suitable utility. -
Click OK to save the values of the variables, and the extra project information.

Steps 8 to 13 are marine specific, the Marine Variables button on the Project Variables window allows additional settings for Marine projects to be configured. The button is displayed if Marine is selected as the project type and the AVEVA Marine 12.1 Format option is selected.

Click Marine Variables to display settings for the Marine environment setup. The Marine project is created from a template. The system will attempt to find a template for the Marine part of the project. If the template cannot be found, you will be prompted to enter the location of the template project. If the template is found, you have the option of changing the source path.

Once the template project has been created, click OK.

The Marine environment setup window is displayed. You can make changes to the variables in the project definition file. You can also launch the Marine environment setup window by clicking Environment Setup on the Tools tab of a marine project in Administration.

The hull environment consists of system variables, project variables and user variables. Project variables take precedence over system variables and user variables take precedence over project variables. System variables are non-project variables which are the same regardless which project is selected.
When utilizing the Environment setup form, edits are written directly in the file d065<proj>.sbd (d065abc.sbd for project abc). This file can be edited manually by experienced administrators.

To edit a variable or its corresponding value, select the row in the displayed list by clicking on it. The variable and its value are shown in the textboxes below. You can now edit them using the keyboard. Click SET to update the list with the changes. Click Remove to clear the textboxes of all text.
To save the changed settings, select File>Save.

Click OK to close the Project Variables window.

Once the details and project variables have been configured, click Create to create the project and close the Project Creation Wizard window. Once created, the following window is displayed.

Click Existing Projects on the main Project Creation Wizard window to load and browse the existing list of projects created by the Project Creation Wizard.

The Existing Projects screen lists information about existing projects. This screen is intended only for browsing the list of existing projects, and cannot be used to change existing projects. The user can however filter the display by Project or Code in the drop-down box, and then search the list for a string by entering a value in the textbox.

Click Cancel to close the window.
