Inter-Discipline Project Creation at a Global Satellite

Inter-Discipline Project Creation at a Global Satellite

For global projects, as in explain in Global Inter-Discipline Project Setup, inter-discipline project creation is divided into processes that must be undertaken at the Hub, and those that must be undertaken at Satellites. Teams, databases and extract hierarchies must be created at the Hub (Inter-Discipline Project Creation). These databases and extracts are then allocated to the appropriate Satellite. Multiple Database (MDBs) must then be generated at the Satellite to be used at that location.

Note:
It is possible to run Interdisciplinary Project Setup at a Satellite before the databases and Extracts have been allocated. As long as the Satellite has the latest version of the Global Database (DB), the MDBs can be predefined prior to allocation. However, no user will be able to access the MDBs until all Databases and Extracts have been allocated.

Select Utilities > Interdisciplinary Project Data > Manage from the main menu. The Interdisciplinary Project Data window is then displayed. When accessed from a Satellite, it appears as follows:

Except as described below, all information displayed on the window is for information only and cannot be changed at a Satellite.

Common Database Sets can be added to the project definition of a Satellite until the MDBs have been created, using the facilities of the COMMON DATABASES section. Refer to Inter-Discipline Project Creation for details.

To create the MDBs for the Satellite, click Create Satellite MDBs.

Any information regarding the progress of the procedure and any error messages are displayed in the Summary section of the window. A Details link will provide access to a text log file of all the messages.
