Assign Instrument to Process Line

The currently selected instrument on the drawing canvas can be associated with a process line.

On the P&ID tab, in the Assign group, click Instrument and select to Process Line from the drop-down menu.

The prompt Select target line for association is displayed.

Click to identify the target line to be associated with the instrument.

The instrument is associated with the target line.

Note:
If an invalid item is selected on the drawing canvas, an error message is displayed summarizing the problem.

If the instrument is already associated with a process line, the Association window is displayed.

Select the Append radio button to add the process line association and retain the existing process line associations.

Select the Replace radio button to add the process line association and remove the existing process line associations.

The process line connection value indicates the process line associated with an instrument.

To display the process line connection attribute, select the instrument on the drawing canvas.

Open the Attributes window and navigate to the Process Line Connection attribute. The expanded values indicate the associated piping network system, piping network segment and centerline.
