Class Synonyms

You can assign alternative names to engineering classes, the class synonym name is different to the class name but equates to the same physical engineering element and functional purpose. Assigning class synonyms avoids the need to create duplicate classes for each variant. Once a class synonym is established, it is interchangeable with the original class name ensuring consistent functionality and accuracy across the application.

For example, a Centrifugal Pump can have the following class synonyms:

• Radial Flow Pump

• Impeller pump

• Volute pump
