Datasheets for Heat and Material Balance reporting

As a Process Engineer, you can use list datasheets, containing a component area and multiple continuation areas, for Heat and Material Balance (H&MB) reporting.

Note: H&MB list datasheets work only for Process Engineers.

You create a component area by converting a continuation area. The number of columns in the area must match the number of attributes for the number of FEED streams, plus an additional column for the names of the chemicals. So, to report on four attributes of each of two FEED streams, you create a component area with nine columns.

Typically, you create continuation areas below the component area to display the phase data of each FEED stream.

In this example, the component area displays these flowing component attributes for each of two FEED streams:

  • Mole Fraction

  • Mole Flow Rate

  • Mass Fraction

  • Mass Flow Rate

Below the component area, three continuation areas are configured to display totals for the two FEED streams, data for the Vapor phase, and data for the Liquid phase of the chemical components:
