Restricted Characters

The default list of restricted characters for naming parts in the naming rules is displayed in the Restricted character window. If required the system administrator can add to this list.

When the user enters a character from this list the field is highlighted with a red outline, along with a tooltip ‘The value X must only contain allowable name characters’. This functionality can be observed in Engineer, Datasheets and Grid and Tag Editor.

This functionality is only available in NAM enabled projects.
