Select Database Element

Select Database Element window in AVEVA Engineering. It appears when you need to choose a database element for linking or importing data. The window shows a hierarchical tree view of the database under the Database Tree tab.

1. On the Compare/Update tab, select the Quick Import from the sub-menu. It opens the Compare and Update configuration window, where unmatched items are listed.

2. Select the Link inserted items checkbox to ensure that you link new items to an existing database element.

3. For an unmatched pump, select the ... button next to the owner field.

   It opens the Select Database Element window.

   

4. In the Database Tree tab, expand the hierarchy to locate the correct database element. For example, expand WORL, ENGWLD, and ENGGRP, where you find CentrifugalPump - PMP-00001.

   

5. This highlighted item represents the pump component you want to assign as the new owner.

   Alternatively, you can use Search tab to locate elements without navigating the entire tree manually.

   It allows you to find a specific database element by name, tag, or identifier.

   

6. Select OK.

   The application links the unmatched pump item to the selected database element and the Compare and update window displays the owner assignment.
