Lists Of Values

The Lists of Values functionality populates the conceptual model with any lists from an imported ISM file. Refer to ISM Integration for further information.

Lists of Values that are created in the conceptual model are built into the Dabacon model. Each list contains a number of items. If the attribute Data Type is set to String, the predefined lists are available for selection as Valid Values and the user can choose a List Of Values to use in the Valid Values field.

Select the Closed Enumeration check box to restrict the attribute in AVEVA Engineering so that only a value in the list of values can be entered. This also sets the Valid Values optional flag to false on the UDA that is built for the attribute.

Deselect the Closed Enumeration check box to allow the use of free text in the attribute in AVEVA Engineering.

When built, attributes with a selected Valid Values list create User defined Attributes (UDAs) that contain User defined valids (UVALIDs) for each item in the list.

Each defined List of Values creates a User Defined List Of Values (UDLOV) in the database.
