Component areas for Heat and Material Balance reporting

Component areas for Heat and Material Balance reporting

Templates for datasheet lists can contain a component area. Component areas, and the datasheet instances that contain them, are solely for Heat and Material Balance (H&MB) reporting. That is, they are for viewing FEED stream list data.

Component areas work only for Process Engineer users.

Typically, a datasheet for H&MB reporting consists of:

  • A component area that displays attribute values for selected chemicals for one or more FEED streams

  • Continuation areas that display attributes of each flow phase.

This image shows a typical layout of an H&MB datasheet, with the component area at the top and two continuation areas below:

When you create a datasheet list instance from a template with a component area, the component area initially displays no data.

  1. Right-click the component area and select Component Settings.
The Datasheet component area window is displayed.

  2. Select the required phase type from the Phase list.
This specifies which components' attributes to display in the component area.

  3. Use the arrows to move the chemicals you require from Available components to Selected components.
You cannot add more chemicals than the number of rows in the component area.

  4. Click OK.
