Use the Datasheet Configuration window to define the datasheet hierarchy and watermark settings, change highlighting settings and export folder settings.

Click Settings in the Datasheets group on the Admin tab.

Owner

Defines the owner of the datasheet in the hierarchy.

Type the owner name in the field or select the ellipsis to display the Engineering Reference Browser window.

Use the Change Highlighting part of the Datasheet Configuration window to specify how differences between the last revision and the working version of the datasheet are highlighted.

Attributes changes

Defines highlight settings for attribute changes.

If the check box is selected, all attribute mappings with changes are highlighted.

If the check box is not selected, attribute mappings with changes are not highlighted.

Cell position changes

Defines highlight settings for mappings with cell position changes.

If the check box is selected, mappings with cell position changes are highlighted (the mappings are copied to another cell).

If the check box is not selected, mappings with cell position changes are not highlighted.

Unit of measure changes

Defines highlight settings for the list of value mappings with changes in units of measure.

If the check box is selected, the list of value mappings with changes in units of measure is highlighted.

If the check box is not selected, the list of value mappings with changes in units of measure is not highlighted.

Sort order of list items

Defines highlight settings for the list of value mappings with changes in sort order.

If the check box is selected, the list of value mappings with changes in sort order is highlighted.

If the check box is not selected, the list of value mappings with changes in sort order is not highlighted.

Apply font

Defines the font and font style for highlighted changes.

If the check box is selected, a font and font style for highlighted changes can be defined. The Font, Bold and Italic options become available for selection.

If the check box is selected, a font and font style for highlighted changes cannot be defined.

Highlight New Records

Highlights the newly added records in a datasheet between revisions while comparing revisions.

Newly added records are highlighted in the datasheet continuation areas of both list and normal datasheets.

Note:
If the Attribute Changes check box is selected, any logically deleted records and modified attributes in the datasheet are highlighted while comparing revisions. Logically deleted records are only visible in the datasheets when Show Logically Deleted is selected. If both are selected any logically deleted rows between the two revisions of the datasheet are highlighted.

Font

Specifies the font for highlighted changes.

Bold

Specifies bold text for highlighted changes.

If the check box is selected, highlighted text is displayed with a bold font.

If the check box is not selected, highlighted changes are not displayed with a bold font.

Italic

Specifies italic text for highlighted changes.

If the check box is selected, highlighted text is displayed with an italic font.

If the check box is not selected, highlighted changes are not displayed with an italic font.

If any changes are made to datasheet with free text, the user is asked if the changes to the data sheet are to be saved as a revision. The revised datasheet will be saved to the following location: Project Default folder\Data\Datasheets\Instances.

Use the Watermark part of the Datasheet Configuration window to define and format a watermark for the datasheet.

Apply Watermark

Defines watermark settings for the datasheet

If the check box is selected, a watermark is applied to the datasheet. All of the options in the Watermark part of the Datasheet Configuration window become active.

If the check box is not selected, a watermark is not applied to the datasheet

Text

Specifies the text that is applied to the watermark.

Direction

Specifies the watermark display direction.

Colour

Specifies the color that is applied to the watermark.

Font

Specifies the font that is applied to the watermark.

Size

Specifies the text size that is applied to the watermark.

Bold

Specifies bold text for the watermark.

If the check box is selected, the watermark is displayed with a bold font.

If the check box is not selected, the watermark is not displayed with a bold font.

Italic

Specifies italic text for the watermark.

If the check box is selected, the watermark is displayed with an italic font.

If the check box is not selected, the watermark is not displayed with an italic font.

In front

Positions the watermark in front of the datasheet text.

Behind

Positions the watermark behind the datasheet text.

All the settings are saved in the DatasheetInstanceSettings.xml file that is stored with the project.

Use the Export Settings part of the Datasheet Configuration window to export datasheets with or without mappings (comments). Multiple datasheets and datasheets with document packs can be exported.

Note:
This functionality and default is set by the System Administrator and can be applied to all export options for datasheets.

Use the Export Folder part of the Datasheet Configuration window to define the default datasheet export location for Excel and PDF files.

Use the Claim part of the Datasheet Configuration window to define the datasheet claim settings when opened.

If the check box is selected, the datasheet is claimed when opened.

If the check box is not selected, the datasheet is not claimed when opened.

Precision

Use the functionality to override project defaults, right click in the cell and click Precision, the Precision window is displayed. Enter the no of decimals required and remove any trailing zeroes, the Remove Trailing Zeroes check box is selected by default.

Refer to Import Datasheet from Excel, Export Current Datasheet to Excel, Export Datasheet to PDF and Print Diagram or Datasheet for further information.
