Binding

The administrator can specify the low level communication protocol to use for data transfer.

The available bindings are as follows:

• Transmission Control Protocol (TCP)

  • The same protocol used by existing Global RPC services.

  • Binary data that is not visible to security checks

  • Fast

  • Better used for protected connections

• Hypertext Transfer Protocol (HTTP)

  • Messages are sent in text, but are verbose

  • Transparent to security checks

  • Slower performance

  • Ideal for unsecured internet connections

• Web Services Security Hypertext Transfer Protocol (wsHTTP)

  • Secure encrypted HTTP.
