Deallocate Names

  • Last UpdatedNov 06, 2025

If an engineering session crashes during a tag allocation process, it can leave orphaned name allocations.

An administrator can use Deallocate Names function to remove orphaned name allocations.

On the Rules tab, in Tag Management group, select Deallocation.

In the example, a crash occurs as the user creates LTA Name M04 in LTA-Motor-Grid.

After the crash, M04 disappears. The user is able to create M05 but requires the use of M04.

An administrator can use the Deallocate Names window to locate and deallocate the M04 entry. The user can then reallocate M04 by creating a new tag.

M04 reappears in LTA-Motor-Grid.
