Create Symbol

Use the Create new symbol template window to create a symbol.

Type a unique name for the symbol.

If the name is not unique, an error message displays summarizing the problem.

Once named, draw and annotate the symbol using the blank drawing canvas, the symbol is created as a member element of the currently selected symbol palette on the Setup Explorer. By default, the Graphical Canvas - Symbol Editor tab is displayed.

The example displays a symbol named Motor. The symbol contains drawing elements, intelligent text and connection points.

Functionality is available to create symbols with a leader line and symbol templates that contain extensible symbols.

Functionality is available to build intelligent text formulas for symbol text using the Intelligent Text Formula Assistant window.
