Use the Create new annotation break window to create an annotation break. An annotation break is used to enable two annotations for different values of an attribute. It can be used as a specification break to indicate the change in the value of an attribute. For example, a transition from low to high pressure or temperature.

Type a unique name for the annotation break.
If the name is not unique, an error message displays summarizing the problem.

The annotation break is created as a member element of the currently selected symbol palette on the Setup Explorer. By default, the Graphical Canvas - Symbol Editor tab is displayed.
Use the Attributes window to select an attribute. Select either the Ab-1 or Ab-2 radio button to define the attribute prefix and drag and drop the attribute on the blank drawing canvas.
Note:
Specific attributes are available to define the split point options for the placement
of annotation breaks on P&ID Drawings.

The example displays an annotation break with two annotations containing intelligent text formulas for two different values of the default name attribute. In the Engineer module the intelligent text is resolved and the appropriate values are displayed.

Refer to Setup Explorer and P&ID Annotation Break Attributes for further information.
