Symbol Palette

Provides an easy to use graphical method for adding symbols to the drawing canvas.
The Symbol Palette window displays the symbol palettes that can be accessed and the symbols that are available for selection. Symbols with inactive in build or deleted classes in the conceptual model are not displayed.
The symbol palette displays the connection points for each symbol. If the connection points are associated with colors, the colors display on the symbol palette when the mouse is hovered over the symbol. If the connection points are not associated with colors, the default orange color displays on the symbol palette when the mouse is hovered over the symbol.
Symbols can be dragged and dropped onto the drawing canvas.

Select a connection point to use it as the base point for the symbol when dragged and dropped onto the drawing canvas.
Options
Modifies the symbol display size in the Symbol Palette window. The specified symbol display size is preserved between application sessions when a save work is performed.

Small icons |
Displays the symbols at 64 pixels. |

Medium icons |
Displays the symbols at 96 pixels. |
|
Big icons |
Displays the symbols at 128 pixels which is the default display size. |
Search
Type a string in the Search field, all symbols are searched for matching content. The search results are highlighted with a yellow background.

The arrow on the right of the Search field displays a drop-down list of search filters that are available for selection.

Press Ctrl+F to clear the Search field.
All Symbols
Displays all available symbols for the currently selected palette (including assemblies).
If all symbols are displayed, click the All Symbols tab to minimize and maximize the display of the Symbol Palette window.
Assemblies
Displays all available assemblies for the currently selected palette.
If assemblies are displayed, click the Assemblies tab to minimize and maximize the display of the Symbol Palette window
Palette
Displays the available symbols for the drawing, categorized by palette name.

Click on a collapsed palette name to open the palette and collapse all other palettes.

Click on an expanded palette name to collapse all palettes.

Click + to the left of a palette to expand the palette. All other palettes are unchanged.

Click - to the left of a palette to collapse the palette. All other palettes are unchanged.
Right-click on a palette name to display a drop-down list of available options.

Toggles the expand and collapse functionality for the currently selected palette. |

Collapses all palettes. |

Expand all |
Expands all palettes. |

Collapse all but this |
Collapses all palettes with the exception of the currently selected palette. |

Add to favorites |
Adds the symbol to the Favorites palette. |

Remove from favorites |
Removes the symbol from the Favorites palette. |
Hover the mouse over a symbol name to display additional information for the symbol.
Click the star to add or remove the symbol to the Favorites palette. The contents of the Favorites palette is preserved between application sessions when a save work is performed.
