Attribute Driven Mapping

Use the Attribute driven symbols mapping window to map classes and symbols to attributes and values. The representation of mapped symbols on the drawing canvas can be modified by changing an attribute value using the Engineer module.
For example, the representation of a valve can be modified to open or closed via the attribute Valve Position and the value Open or Closed.
Note: The available symbols must already be associated with the class.
Selected mapping
Select an attribute driven mapping specification from the drop-down list to populate the Attribute driven symbols mapping window with the mapping settings.
Create
Creates an attribute driven mapping specification.
Delete
Deletes the currently selected mapping specification.
Classes
Displays the currently mapped classes. Select a class to display the associated symbols.

Displays the Select Class window. Use the Select Class window to select the class using the NAM class hierarchy or search functionality. If a drawing type is not associated with the class, an error message displays summarizing the problem.

Adds a row to the bottom of the grid. |

Deletes the currently selected row from the grid. |
Drawing Types
The check box adjacent to each drawing type defines the drawing types that are associated with the currently selected class. You can select multiple drawing types for each class association.
If the check box is selected, the drawing type is associated with the class.
If the check box is not selected, the drawing type is not associated with the class.
Symbol
Displays the symbols that have been associated with the class. Select a symbol to display the mapped attributes and values.

Displays the Symbols Templates window. Use the Symbols Templates window to select a symbol. |

Moves to the next row in the grid. |

Moves to the previous row in the grid. |
Attribute
Displays the currently mapped attributes. Select from the drop-down list to associate an attribute with a symbol.
Note: The Attribute list does not include attributes with a class of Inactive in Build.
Value
Displays the currently mapped attribute values. Select from the drop-down list to associate an attribute value with a symbol.
