AVEVA™ Engineering

ETAP Integration

Use the ETAP Integration functionality to set the general and AVEVA Integration Service Service settings.

Note:
As Unified Engineering is designed for a Cloud solution, for the ETAP interface to work correctly, the installer needs to place the configuration and data transfer files into a common folder that is accessible to both ETAP and Engineering users.

Typically, the AVEVA Integration Service (AIS) is installed on a server and AVEVA Unified Engineering is installed on a different machine; in such cases the SSL Certificate from AIS must be exported and imported onto the AVEVA Unified Engineering machine.

When working within CONNECT via AVEVA Unified Engineering – Spectrum, the AVEVA Integration Service network share drive for ETAP files and Engineering Edge Connector(s) should be on the same network.

Note:
All the fields in the ETAP Integration window are mandatory.

General

Data Folder

Specifies the locations of the style/configuration sheet file (xslt) and the exported engineering data file (xml).

Once Apply is clicked the ETAPExportTrans.xslt & ValueValidation.xml files are copied to the Data Folder path.

  • ETAPExportTrans.xslt - the style sheet translates AVEVA Engineering data to ETAP data format

  • ValueValidation.xml - the xml file is used to store constant values.

    Note:
The system administrator can add to/modify the ‘out of box’ style/configuration sheet which governs the translation of ETAP data to AVEVA Engineering data for mapping purposes.

File Name

Specifies the file name of the exported engineering data file.

Project Frequency

This is an ETAP mandatory field for importing data from AVEVA Engineering.

AVEVA Integration Service Settings

AIS URL

Specifies the URL where the data API of the AVEVA Integration Service (AIS) is located. The standard format is:
https://<hostname>:<portno>

Authentication type

Specifies the user authentication method.
If AIS is available at on-premises, select NTLM.
If AIS is available at on-cloud, select AVEVA Connect.

Connect

Used to connect to the AIS. Click after the AIS URL and/or authentication type is changed.

Projects

Select from the list of projects which are connected to the AIS location. The list is populated once a connection is made to the AIS using the Connect button. Select a project to import into AVEVA Engineering.
