Auto-populate Case in Case Control Item in Datasheet Template

Auto-populate Case in Case Control Item in Datasheet Template

Default cases are set in the datasheet template so that all the datasheet instances created based on the datasheet template with the desired case values are auto-populated instead of setting the desired cases in each datasheet instance.

The Case values are set at the Engineer by the users and will reside in the first Engineering D/B of the MDB that’s being logged into.

In the Configuration module once the Case Control is mapped under Items -> the user set Case values need to be auto-populated.

This will enable the Administrator to select a default Case.

Notes:

For the existing Datasheet Templates, for the Case Controls the Items will be auto-filled only when clicked on the control or while loading the Datasheet Template. If the existing controls are having the Items values in it, they will be overridden by the instance cases.

For the existing Datasheet Templates, this functionality will remain as it is today unless they explicitly update the default case

If there are no existing Cases in the project, as in such cases as Items under properties will be empty or have "Base Case", the Administrator should be able to give in values manually as today. However, by entering the values new Engineering Cases will not be created.
