Prepare Off Page Connector symbols for the reverse stream process in Configuration module

Before you can use Off Page Connector (OPC) symbols on two sheets of a Process Flow Diagram (PFD) drawing in the reverse stream process properly, you must prepare the symbols in the Configuration module. Alternatively, you can update AVEVA Unified Engineering to the current release.

Launch AVEVA Unified Engineering - Configuration

1. Start AVEVA Unified Engineering to display the AVEVA Unified Engineering window.

2. Select the MLP 2.0 project tile.

3. Select the Select > link to display the second AVEVA Unified Engineering window.

4. Select the Engineer Config tile.

5. Enter User Name and Password.

6. Select Launch to display the application.

Configure OPC's symbols with pairing symbol

7. On the Drawing tab in the View group, select Setup Explorer to display the Setup Explorer.

8. In the Setup Explorer window, expand Drawing types.

9. Expand Process Flow Diagram.

10. Expand OPC's to display the available entries.

    

11. Select an OPC entry, for example, Left - From OPC.

12. Click right-mouse to display the context menu.

13. Select Attributes to display the Attributes window.

14. Adjacent to the Pair option, select the ... button to display the Select off page connector template window.

15. In the list of OPC's, select the contrary image, for example, Left - To OPC.

16. Repeat Step 6 to 10 for all other OPC'S entries.

17. Select the Save icon to save the modifications for further use.

Connect OPC's on different drawing sheets

18. Start AVEVA Unified Engineering - Engineer as PROC.ENG.

19. In the Drawing Explorer, expand Process Flow Diagram.

20. Double-click a PFD which contains the OPC symbol on two sheets.

21. In sheet 1, select the OPC symbol.

22. In sheet 2, select the OPC symbol as well.

    

23. Select the Drawing tab.

24. In the Create area, select the arrow icon below OPC to display the submenu.

25. Select Connect OPC.

    You have connected the OPC symbols on the two sheets with the pairing OPC symbols.

    

    You can now reverse streams linked to those OPC's.
