Attributes

Use the Attributes window to display all available data for the currently selected element.

To open the Attributes window:

  1. Select the required element.

  2. On the View tab, in the View group, select Attributes to display the Attributes window.

Multi-Tag selection

Use the Multiselection window to view all available data for the currently selected elements.

To open the Multiselection window:

  1. Select multiple elements.

  2. On the View tab, in the View group, select Attributes to display the Multiselection window.

    Note:
    Ensure that Tracking is enabled to view the Multiselection window.
    For the selected elements, only common attribute values are displayed. If the selected elements have different values, those values are displayed as Various.

    All of the available grid attributes are displayed in the window and they are grouped by the Category of the attribute, which is part of the core database schema or the Category attribute of the User Defined Attributes (UDA), as defined in the Lexicon module when the UDA is set up.

    Although it appears that all data is editable, all of the normal access controls are enforced and data can only be modified the data that is accessible. Any data displayed that is read-only cannot be modified.

    Items can be organized and displayed using the functionality available.

    Tracking

    Turns automatic tracking on or off.

    In the Engineer module, your selection persists within and across sessions.

    In the Configuration module, your selection persists only within a session.

    If tracking is on, the attributes grid automatically updates to display the attributes of the currently selected tag.

    If tracking is off, the attributes grid does not update when you select different tags. To update the attributes grid, you must right-click the required row and select Attributes.

    Tabs

    Defines the window display mode for categories.

    If selected, each category is displayed on an individual tab.

    If not selected, each category is displayed sequentially.

    Alphabetical sort

    Sorts the displayed information in ascending order (A to Z) or descending order (Z to A).

    If Category display is selected, the categories are sorted then the attributes within each category are sorted.

    If Alphabetical display is selected, the attributes are sorted.

    Note:
    Alphabetical sort is not available when the window is displayed in Tabs mode.

    Expand All

    Expands all categories and attributes, individual groups can be collapsed and expanded using the plus or minus located to the left of each category.

    Collapse All

    Collapses all categories and attributes, individual groups can be collapsed and expanded using the plus or minus located to the left of each category.

    Select Active Cases

    Controls the display of active cases for the currently selected attribute.

    The available functionality is identical to the Set Active Cases window.

    Text Filter

    Filters the display to match a text string.

    Type a string to be searched in the Find field and click Find to search the currently displayed window for matching content. Matched content is highlighted.

    Click Clear to delete text from the Find field.

    Category/Alphabetical

    Defines the window display mode.

    If Category is selected, attributes are sorted by category.

    If Alphabetical display is selected, attributes are sorted alphabetically.
