Datasheets can include display rules. A display rule can specify, for example, that the cell on which it is applied displays only values that are between specified limits. Display rules are defined in datasheet templates and are applied in datasheet instances created from those templates.

In a datasheet instance, right-click a cell that contains a display rule and select Display Rule.

The following options are available:

Option

Description

Show Editor

Opens the Display Rule Editor. You can specify a new display rule or modify an existing rule. For more information on the Display Rule editor, refer to Continuation Area.

Disable and Enable

Disables the display rule until you enable it again by selecting the Enable option from the Display Rule context menu. This setting persists across sessions.

Remove

Removes the rule from the datasheet instance for the current session.

Copy Rule

Copies the rule so that it can be pasted to another cell.

Paste Rule

Pastes a copied rule into another cell during the current session. You can independently enable and disable copied and pasted rules.

A separate context menu option, Precision, is also enabled if a cell has, or could have, a display rule defined on it.

Precision window with field to specify number of decimals and checkbox for option to remove trailing zeroes.

Select the No. of decimals to display for values returned by the display rule. Use this option to specify the number of decimal places to display for values returned by the display rule. You can also select Remove trailing zeroes to remove unnecessary zeroes after the decimal point.
