Connect Instrument to Centerline or Secondary Line

Draw a process instrument connection line between an instrument and a centerline or secondary line to connect them.

Connected Items

The first connected and second connected values indicate the items that are connected to a process instrument connection line.

To display the first connected and second connected attributes, select the process instrument connection line on the drawing canvas.

Open the Attributes window and navigate to the First Connected or Second Connected attribute.

Note:
The Ref Related Process Line association for I01 is updated with the connected centerline when a process instrument connection line is drawn from I01 to the centerline. To display the I01 information in the centerline attributes, an inverse association for Ref Related Process Line must be built into the conceptual model.

Process Instrument Connection Specification

The process instrument connection specification value indicates the piping specification of the selected item.

To display the process instrument specification attribute, select the item on the drawing canvas.

Open the Attributes window and navigate to the Process Instrument Connection Specification attribute.

Click ... to display the Assign specification window.

Attribute Propagation

If the created process instrument connection line is connected to an existing centerline or secondary line, the following attribute values are propagated from the associated centerline.

• Bore

• Pipeline specification
