Table Report

Creates a report using table cells that are bound to a data source.

1. Create a new report.

2. Bind the report to a data source.

3. On the Toolbox, select a Table control.

   

4. Click on the PageHeader blank space to position the control.

   

5. On the Toolbox, select a Table control.

6. Click on the Detail blank space to position the control.

   

   As a result, two tables are created. The table control positioned in the Page Header band used as a table header. The table control positioned in the Detail band is used to contain the report detail.

7. Type values in the table header cells to be used as the table headers.

8. Drag and drop or use Smart tags to bind the attributes from the Field List tab of the Report Explorer window to the table cell controls.

   

   Note:
   Various table properties can be customized. For example, use the Properties window to define Borders and the Background Color. Additional text formatting can be performed. Use the functionality available on the Report Designer tab, in the Font group.

   

9. Click the Print Preview tab to display the result.
