The Import/Export To/From ETAP tab is populated with the ‘out of the box’ mappings of ETAP element types and AVEVA Engineering Class types.

ETAP has a set number of element types which are mapped to the equivalent class in AVEVA Engineering. However there are three cases in the ‘out of box’ mappings provided by AVEVA, where the ETAP Element cannot be mapped directly to the equivalent class in AVEVA Engineering or it does not exist in ETAP.
In AVEVA Engineering, there is no single object called transformer, there is a transformer with classes as a single object with one or many windings.

For example: a XFORM2W (ETAP Transformer element) has three classes created for AVEVA Engineering. A transformer, a primary and secondary winding, as windings do not exist in ETAP the windings have the prefix ENG which are can be seen in the Mappings window below and the same prefix is used for pseudo attributes (which are not actual element types).
Other cases are Cable Data Size (ENGCDS) where the ETAP data is imported into AVEVA Engineering as a cable sizing data record (this is not the physical sizing cable data but the data that is required to size the cable) and connecting objects together in the database (ENGFEDITEM).
Note:
The import of ETAP data to AVEVA Engineering data is governed by a style sheet provided by AVEVA. Refer to ETAP Integration for more information, for the other tabs displayed in the Mappings window. Refer to the AVEVA Simulation Integration Setup User Guide.
Create a new ETAP mapping
Select + to display the Create New Mapping window, enter the details for the new mapping into the Create New Mapping window, ETAP to Engineering Tag is the default.

ETAP Dumpster
Within ETAP application there is a section that is titled dumpster, this is effectively the holding area for all logically deleted tags in the application. The ETAP interface in AVEVA Engineering supports the transfer of logically deleted tags between AVEVA Engineering and ETAP.
Within the mappings for ETAP interface there is a new attribute that appears against all the mapped Engineering Tag classes. This is called ENGLogicalDelete for ETAP element type and ETAP Logical Delete for AVEVA Engineering class.
