Checking Communications

Before allocating databases, make sure that both daemons are running by selecting Query > Global States > Communications or by issuing a Ping command. The Test Project Communications window will be displayed. Select the remote location from the list, and click Apply.
Note:
You can also select the current location, as a preliminary check on your own daemon.
The window will display a message giving the time taken to contact the remote location if successful, or telling you that there is a communication failure, in which case, one or both of the daemons should be re-started.
If the communications failure persists, use the operating system Ping command or tracer to make sure that the two locations can ‘see’ each other.
