Approved Delegate and Date

Status control provides an mechanism that can be customized for individual company and project requirements to delegate the approval of datasheet(s), drawing(s) and tag(s) and display the information in the revision block of the respective element and tag.

Note:
In Lexicon and/or the Configuration modules, the system administrator has created the Allow delegation value and it is displayed in the Status value details fields of the Current Element Editor window.

Note:
For the purposes of this example, the workflow is completed using the Configuration module.

1. In the Configuration module, select the Workflow tab.

2. Navigate to APPROVED STVAL element located under the STADEF element in the Workflow Explorer hierarchy.

   Note:
   In the Lexicon module, select the Workflow tab, then navigate to the APPROVED STVAL element in the Dictionary Explorer hierarchy.

3. In the Allow Delegate field of the Status value details, select True (default is False).

   Note:
   For the purposes of this example workflow the Delegate and Delegate date attributes will be added to the APPROVED STVAL element only.

   Note:
   All the existing status elements will have the Allow Delegate field set to False.

   

4. Navigate to the REVISION BLOCK element in the Workflow Explorer.

5. From the right-click menu, select Edit Revision Block Definition. The Revision Block Definition - Revision Block window is displayed.

   

6. Click Add attributes from the displayed list select Approved Delegate of and Approved Delegation date fields.

   

7. In the Header column, enter App’ed Delegate of and App’ed Delegation date respectively.

8. Click OK.

   Note:
   For the purposes of this work flow example, a datasheet revision block is used.

9. Click OK.

10. Select the Libraries tab in the View group, then select Datasheet.

11. In the Datasheet Explorer, navigate to the appropriate datasheet template, right-click and select Edit Datasheet Template. The Datasheet Template Editor window is displayed. The Datasheet Template window is displayed ‘Reading mappings’.

12. From the Data Sources window, drag the Revision Block element into the grid. The approved delegate and approved delegate date fields are displayed in the datasheet revision block grid.

13. In the Engineer module, select the Manage tab in the Status Actions group, then select Edit. The Status - Engineering Status Definition window is displayed.

14. Or available for selection in the Status pane of the Status - Engineering Status Definition window.

    Note:
    As the Approved status is the only status value with the delegate functionality "switched on". Promote the datasheet instance to Pending Approval (see note under step 3).

15. Click to expand the Value drop-down list in the Status pane of the Status - Engineering Status Definition window.

16. Select Approved.

17. Enter the name of whom you represent in the Delegate Of field.

18. Select the drop-down in the Delegation Date field, select a date from the calendar.

19. Click OK to add the delegate functionality, the Promote Status progress window is displayed. On completion, the name and date are displayed in the revision block.

    Note:
    If a drawing revision is been issued, a Revision Issue window is displayed 'Issuing a drawing revision requires a Save Work operation. Do you want to continue?'

20. On the Manage tab in the Status Actions group, click History to display the Status History window. The status history is displayed including the newly added delegation information.
