Update Engineering Database

This feature creates or updates data in the Engineering database according criteria that you select. The criteria are:

• Unmatched - The supplier's data does not have the same name as any data in the Engineering database.

• Matched - The supplier's data has the same name as data in the Engineering database. That is, for example, both the supplier and the Engineering database have an item named Pump 1.

• Linked - The supplier's data was previously imported but requires updating in the Engineering database.

Follow the steps described below:

1. Select the source from the lists in the Source Selection group on the Compare/Update tab.

2. The Compare/Update pane lists the items read. They are color-coded according to whether they are unmatched, matched, or linked.

3. In the Compare/Update pane, select the checkboxes of the items to update.

4. Click Update Database>Update Database with Options in the Destination group of the Compare/Update tab.
   The Update Engineering Database form is displayed. If you selected no items in the Compare/Update pane, only the top, summary, section of the form is displayed. If you selected one or more items, then either or both the Unmatched items to be inserted and Matched or linked items to be updated sections are also displayed, according to the items you selected.

   

5. (Optional) For unmatched, matched, or linked items, clear the Linked inserted items or Update attributes for linked items checkboxes.

6. (Optional) Click the ellipsis to select the owner for the selected item types.
   

7. (Optional) For matched or linked items, select the Unlink selected items checkbox

8. Click Update.
